September
Morning Meeting and Word Work
Every morning the students participate in calendar math, I use both SMART board activities, a concrete calendar, and manipulatives for morning routines. We will begun our Student of the Day and will continue to do so until every child has their special day. Using our ALL ABOUT ME bags the Student of the Day gets to tell us all about their interests. It is a wonderful ice-breaker that enables children to share and get to know one another.
Word Work- words of the week. Each new word will be added to our word wall for student reference to assist with reading and writing fluency and comprehension. The words of the week/s are always high frequency words taught in context from the poem of the week.
Sight Words for September: are, get, what, to, where, who
